Wings part 38

Got started on the NAV/Strobe mounts.

They have you trim these to the scribe lines.  The lines sort of vanish near the hand hold.  Then match drill two holes on the front and aft outboard faces.  This part is not the best quality or fit to the shape of the wing tip.  There is a gap on the front and aft edge where it sits against the outboard rib of the tip.

Then they have you drill the remaining holes on the bottom.  The three of them must align with existing holes.  They don't gel coat those areas so you can see the hole thru the glass.  Unfortunately they sort of missed the area where the holes are.

Then they have you apply some epoxy and flock to the inside of the outboard face of the mount.  This fills the gap that would be there so the rivets don't squish the mount.  I also used it to fill the gap that was on the front and rear that you can see here.  Before doing this, I applied car wax to the areas that will see the epoxy.  It worked great as I was able to pop them off after curing.

Did the same for the left wing.

This one fit much better on the front and rear flange.
