Trial fitting the interior

Here I temporarily put the interior in the cockpit so I could get an idea of what areas will remain exposed.

Canopy frame painting.

It is time to paint the canopy frame before the bubble gets attached

Primed with self etching primer after I masked up the front arms of the frame.

Then I sprayed the frame with Rustoleum hammered brown.

Canopy Side Skirt Fitting

Worked on fitting and painting the canopy side skirts today.  These have to be painted on the inside due to their visibility in the cockpit.

First is to countersink the front 5 holes of the frame.

They have you bend the skirt to match the contour of the bubble and frame.  I rolled it around a spray paint can.

Dimple the front 5 holes for 120 degree flush rivets.

Then I painted them with the Rustoleum Hammered Brown paint that I am going to use on the interior.

Canopy Frame part 4, and interior color choices.....

More work on the canopy frame.

They have you install the gas struts at this time.

Then some shims are placed on the canopy rail decks.

Can't open this thing fully when it is in the garage.  :(

Had to bend the frame to match the shape of the fuse side..

I am going to do Rustoleum Hammered paint again on the interior.  Worked well on my RV-7 so why not.

Here are the colors that I have to pick from that may match my interior color choices:

The copper is too orange.  The Gold is too yellow.  The Dark Bronze is too dark.  In the end I settled on the brown.
